Anyone who has spent a lifetime of crafting will appreciate how hard it is when you can no longer do what you love due to illness or other reasons. I've twice had to help people clear out their craft items (not including inheriting my mum's crafty bits), and it's heartbreaking. Even if I'm grateful for the windfall it brings me, I know how hard it must be for them.
In one of the bags I picked up the other week, there was this waistcoat. There is only one front and the bands to do. The least I can do, is get this finished and take it back.
This is going to be my next sit down project, and it's such a lovely pattern to work up. Hopefully, having the finished garment will go a small way to making her feel a bit better about parting with her treasure.
