Next to my sewing machine, I have an old pillowcase. In that goes all my thread and wool trimmings, and the bits of fabric that are of no use to anyone. When it's jammed packed, it's time to make a new dog bed.
From the recycled fabric pile, I grab a piece big enough to make a large cushion. This one is from an old curtain. I sew around the sides, leaving enough of an opening for turning out and filling. The contents from the pillowcase go inside and the opening is machine stitched closed. The dog isn't fussy about neat finishing.
As soon as it hits the floor, he knows it's his and, as you can see, he's been busy rearranging the contents. The good thing is, these are washable, and will keep him going until the pillowcase is full again and he gets a new one.
