This dress I cut out while my friend was here doing the last dress, but she left me to sew it up all on my own. How cruel is that! It's been sat waiting for a while, but I sat down and got stuck in one day last week.
The dress is made, it's been washed, and I've worn it. I'll be wearing it again, so in my reckoning, that's a success.
Lessons learned in the process:
Each fabric is different, and you might cut the pieces the same, but it doesn't guarantee the outcome will be the same.
Check the fit before finishing the neck and armhole edges as changes are easier made at that stage than after.
Just a note on the picture, the dress is straight in real life. The angle of the camera and the way the dress is sitting on the hanger makes it look crooked.
Will I do another one? Yes, and this time, I'll be doing it completely from scratch, on my own. Once I've done that, I'll have Jean back to perfect a pattern for something else.
