This week we have a fantastic make from the talented Gerda. Gerda made her own fabric by joining other scraps of fabric together. I love how she has used the bird in the fabric as the focal point and has added quilting lines to make the pieces stand out. It's made a beautiful pouch.
In the past I've made lots of crumb blocks with the intention of making a quilt. This may just be the motivation I need to put it together. I found my prepared block searching for fabric last week. If you'd like to know more about how to make fabric like this, do let me know.
In Video Tips
We're sticking with quilting this week, but this week it's binding strips. Actually, this tip would be useful for anytime you are joining strips of fabric. This video explains why it's a good idea to join your strips diagonally. Not only are you spreading the strain on the fabric, but when it comes to folding over the fabric, you are not going to have to stitch over a bulky lump. I hope you'll find it useful.
Deramores ran a pole on their Facebook page this week about which was the best King Cole Yarn, I must say that I agree with the outcome. Go and check out their Rico yarn! I'd be very happy to have an excuse to buy some and make something beautiful.
