In the next two weeks, I'll be concentrating on getting the January classes and workshops filmed and on the website. Talking about the website, it needs a few tweaks, so I'll let you know as soon as they're done. Hopefully, I will be able to give you details of the workshops in next week's newsletter.
It's too late to get a paper copy of the calendar in time for Christmas although the electronic download is available at any time. There are still 5 Create with Loopy Calendars available for posting if you would like to join us in the new year with a whole year of crafty projects. I will get them posted the next working day from when they are ordered.
Remember, I do have one calendar available for a giveaway so get your entries in quickly. You need to tell me about a new craft you have tried this year, or want to try next year. Pictures are always welcome. You can enter by email, or by commenting on the post on my page or in the Facebook group. A winner will be announced on boxing day.
This week I've chosen these lovely gift boxes from Kathy. Sometimes, simplicity speaks volumes. The boxes were shop bought, but Kathy has personalised them with the stamped disks and shells. I'm sure it'll make the gifts even more special.
It's that time of year when everyone seems to review the year gone by. I'd love you to come and share your favourite make of the year in the Get Creative with Loopy group. One will get featured here next week.
In Video Tips
Video tips will be taking just a short break. They will be returning in the new year. I'm always open to suggestions, so please let me know if there is something you would like shared.
In Recommended Offers and Other News
Would you believe it, sales have already started. Mind you, in the crafting world, there always seems to be offers of some kind or another. Anyway, sales and discounts can be found at Hobbycraft, Create and Craft, Deramores, and Love Knitting.
It's strange how the popularity of crafts changes over the years. I can remember growing up in the 70's and macrame was the big thing. By the time the 80's came around, it was old fashioned. Well, you live long enough and it becomes popular again. The Village Haberdashery are now selling macrame rope and other necessary notions. If you make something, I'd love to see it. You never know, this time around, I might actually get to try it for myself.
Do you like to join in with Mystery Quilt Subscriptions? Cotton Patch have announced a Kaffe Fassett one for 2018. At around £275 for the year, it's quite pricey. I'm actually trying a couple of other quilt subscriptions next year, I will let you know what I think about them as soon as they start. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts about them too.
Now for something quite affordable and a great way to build up a stash, Creative Quilting offer a Fabric Sample Club for £18 a year. For that, each month, you receive 10 5" squares, great value.
Don't forget, just 5 paper copies of the 2018 Create with Loopy Calendar left and a digital version is available here. If you haven't already tried it, there is a fantastic free class available on the website and if you want to come and join us for this month's workshop, the details are here but message me if you have already done the free class. You are entitled to a 50% discount. Our gift certificates are great if you'd like to buy one of our classes for a friend, message me for details or visit the website. If you need to know lead times for ordering, you'll get the latest information here and I am now ready to take your orders for 2018.
