In the meantime, this month's class has been progressing with some of our member's doing intense quilting for the first time. I'm loving the progress they have made. I'm looking forward to being able to share their finished items with you in the next week or so,
I can't believe that in one week we will have come to the end of October. That means that we are already gearing up behind the scenes for our next class. If you would like to have a gentle introduction to making clothes, come and join us as we make a simple skirt. Believe me, if I can do it, you certainly can. You can find out the details here.
Don't let us forget that we need to announce this month's giveaway winner. Congratulation to Julie. Please send me your mailing address so I can get your prize sent out to you. A prize for next month will be posted on the website very soon.
This sweet little lady caught my eye in the group this week. She has been made by Susanne who has been busy finishing up lots of different projects. Feel free to come along and join the group if you are looking for some creative inspiration.
In Video Tips
This week, our video tip is for hand sewing. Whether we are sewing hems, binding quilts by hand or doing embroidery, threads tangling and knotting up is so very frustrating. Although this tip won't eliminate the problem completely, (some threads need special treatment), it will certainly help to reduce the problem. It's also an important tip to remember when you are teaching younger people to sew.
If you have the children home next week for half term Hobbycraft have slime making activities going on in store. You will need to book your place, but at a £1 a go, it's a fairly cheap activity. Be prepared for them to come home and continue with the activity. There are other special offers for children's craft kitstoo. For the adults, there is a beautiful new papercraft range from Tim Holtz. It's only available online but well worth having a look.
Exclusions apply, but Deramores have £1 delivery this weekend, as well as 25% off chunky and aran yarn. It's time to plan your winter knitting!

It's always been one of my dreams to own the whole palette of Kona Cotton. It's great for pixel quilts and just having the fabric on hand makes it so much easier for quilt planning. Plush Addict have got new colours in stock, 37 new cottons! If you fancy getting your hands on them, they are selling a fat quarter bundle of them, which is a great way to start.
Talking about Plush Addict, they have a fabulous new range of fabric, Save Our Bees. I'm really tempted to make a quilt with this one, it's definitely going on my list.
If you're looking for a fabric bargain, check out the remnant sale at Frumble. Do be aware that some fabrics are discontinued so, if you have a special project in mind, make sure you buy enough to complete it.
