While I'm at close quarters with the quilt, I begin to sort out the loose ends and make sure the stitching is secure. There is something very satisfying when you see the pile of clips growing as the binding is secure. With the last stitch going it, a disconnected combination of fabric have become a cohesive unit. They have taken on a new identity and sit comfortably together.
There are a couple more stages to go through before this quilt is ready to leave. The next stage is to be washed and dried. This is when the quilt comes to life and all the pieces gel together and become whole. Come back tomorrow and see it.
