I've recycled an old curtain, folded it in half, sewn up two of the sides, then emptied the contents of the pillow inside. The remaining edge gets sewn up. Onto the floor it goes, and Finley is in heaven, he has a new bed.
You might think it's too lumpy and bumpy, but it's how Finley likes it. He can paw it into shape and form pillows for his head. As there is plenty of room for moving the scraps around, he's able to get it just as he wants it.
This bed, now goes up into Jonathan's room where he sleeps. The old, worn out, smelly one can now go into the bin. This one will last him until the pillowcase is full again, and will be washed at intervals in between. As you can see, nothing gets wasted from my work room.
