Calendars have been sent out and are dropping on door mats. The reaction to them has been wonderful, thank you. I am so pleased you like them and can't wait to share the projects with you in the new year. The next postage date will be 16th November so get your place your orders here.
I'm in the process of designing and making a cushion for the next featured workshop. As each quilt is made up of a single blocks joined together, quilted cushions are a great way to start out with patchwork and quilting. Using fabric recycled from shirts is an inexpensive way to source your fabric. In this class, you can use recycled fabric or, if you'd rather, use new fabric, the process for making will be the same. I'd love you to have a go at doing your own designs, I'll be there to help you get the end result you are looking for. If you don't want to do your own design, then I'm including a QAYG (Quilt As You Go) cushion. Book your place here and f you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
If you would like to have a go at making a skirt, you can still come and join our member's in this month's class. Book your place here here.
I was really torn about what to share with you in this week's Member's Showcase but I've gone with this fabulous phone case from Nicola. What makes this so amazing is, that at the beginning of the year, Nicola had never used a sewing machine. Now she's off experimenting and making new things, it's brilliant!

Quite often, in class, when there is any mention of free motion quilting or embroidery, the first reaction is panic. The second is to jump right in cold and expect it to look the way we have envisioned in our mind. You will find that even the most experienced of quilters will have a practice first. This helps to get our brains, hands and feet all working together. If you are a bit hesitant about giving it a go, maybe this video will help.
Hobbycraft are still doing 3 for 2 on craft kits and toys for children with a great selection at under £5. I thought it was a bit ironic that the typewriter was making a comeback, not sure if £200 makes it attractive, even for a wedding novelty. I wonder what other iconic blasts from the past will be making a comeback.
Love Knitting are continuing with their 50% off aran and worsted yarn.
If you are looking at making gifts, Plush Addict have a great selections of licensed fabrics. Do remember, these are for personal use only.
If you are looking for making new baby gifts, Create and Craft have a sweet quilt and soft book kits available featuring adorable safari creatures. They also have a kit to make a quilt for a double bed, it's quite pricey but it might be a price worth paying for not having to cut the fabric! At £119 it does illustrate why hand made quilts are so expensive.
Talking of safari animals, Higgs & Higgs have a gorgeous new range of nursery fabrics featuring the ever popular elephant. The collection is called Royal Elephants.

I know many of you use Wool Warehouse to buy wool. They are now selling fabric including some big names. It also comes packed in chiffon bags so is going to add that little bit of extra excitement when you receive your order. Apparently, it's sent out in the same prompt manner as their yarn, so I can imagine they will soon become a go to place for fabric. No
