This spring was a difficult time for one of my friends, it was the one year anniversary of the death of her husband. In conversation, she said she wanted something special to remember him by but wasn't sure what. She was aware I did quilts, but she also wanted something for other members of the family. After some thought, we came up with the idea of cushions, all done differently, using his shirts.
The first shirt was to be used for his grandson. We wanted something masculine, something that held the character of his grandad, and that wouldn't hide that it was a shirt.
To come, there are cushions for five more family members, as well as something special for the little grandaughters.
