One of the girls already has a pair of socks I made last year, but one day, I got up in the early hours to a message asking if I would mind making her another pair. Well, I wasn't going to say no.
She wanted something to wear with her wellies so they had to be dark and they had to be a specific length. Thanks to the wonder of modern technology, she came shopping with me. I physically went shopping, she chose the yarn via Whatsapp.
During the knitting of the first sock, more photos were sent via Whatsapp so she could tell me how long she wanted the legs to be. After that, it was all plain sailing. The first sock was quickly finished, but the second was put on hold while I dealt with other commitments.
As she's coming to stay at the end of the week, I thought I'd better get the second sock finished for her, so after a weekend of concentrated knitting, there is now a pair of socks. I think I need to get a larger pair of sock blockers if I'm going to keep making socks for people with larger feet then me. I just have to wait until Friday now to see if they pass the test.
