Over 600,000 Syrian children are now orphans
Hundreds of thousands are left homeless and living in rubble.
As the ladies from Hand in Hand with Syria said at our meet up, Syria is being forgotten
Lets show some love
The plan is for boxes of love
Now then.. I know the immediate and quickest response will be to look after babies and everyone loves doing the girlie colours but we want kids up to the age of 14 years and we want boys and girls.
This is what we are going to do. Fill a box, trying to keep it to 2kg
A blanket(or quilt) a warm sweater/cardigan, basic toiletries (toothbrush, soap, shampoo, toothbrush) basic school stuff (exercise book, pencil, pen ruler, rubber) 2 new sets of underwear. A small toy
A label will be made for you to add to the box just saying Gender of child and age of child and yes we have to be gender specific
Nothing religious in boxes and nothing edible
The ideal thing about this, you can contribute as much or as little as your circumstances allow. You can fill a box, or send donations to help filling a box. As it is an ongoing project, it means you can gather things gradually to spread the cost and it's ideal if you can sew or knit too. You'll find all the details in the group, along with the files with the details of what is needed. It's a friendly group and they'll be happy to answer any questions. If you're not on Facebook and would like to contribute, just send me a message and I'll forward the details you need.
