I had a lovely couple of days away, although I forgot to take my camera. One of the highlights was a visit to The Weardale Museum. The attraction for me, was the mention of a tapestry. You can check out the website here, http://www.weardalemuseum.co.uk/tapestry.html, but if you're in the area, it's well worth a visit.
The Weardale Tapestry, is made up for five panels of free form embroidery, tracing the history of the area, and it's magnificent.
Also of interest, were the examples of Durham quilting, all done by hand. The stitching was exquisite. If you do get the opportunity, do go and see it.
