While I was here, I thought I'd introduce you all to an old friend of mine, you've been hearing a lot about this over the last few weeks, so here you are - my trusty button tin.
The packets on the top, are spare buttons that have come with new clothes, you may even spy a few "googly" eyes there too. Underneath that layer, it's full of loose buttons. Where have they come from? Some have been taken from clothes passed being usable, like the shirt buttons I collected this week. Others are the ones leftover on cards or in packets, that were bought for specific garments. I also have some that were gifted to me, I will never refuse a good home to buttons.
When I need buttons, I'll look through here first, and will only buy new if there is nothing suitable. As you will have noticed, the baby shoes have all been adorned by these vintage buttons. Hopefully, that will be true for some considerable time to come.
Do any of you have stitching or crafting treasures handed down through the family? If you do, I'd love hear about them.
